This video shows the Kuka KR30/2, a Pallet Labelling Robot from Engenius Solutions. The Robotic Pallet Labelling project involved the replacement of an existing pneumatic machine with an automatic robotic system designed to place a label on each of the four sides of a pallet of product.
The Pallet Labelling Robot operates in an inverted mode mounted on a frame above the packaging line to provide the greatest level of flexibility. The robot is programmed to pickup a label provided by one of two Zebra printers configured as a dual redundant system. The robot uses whichever printer is healthy and has a label available so as to achieve optimal cycle time.
One label is placed on each of the four sides of the pallet of product in a position specified by the packaging lines control system. The installation of this robot provided the client with a 40 second cycle time and a through-put of 100 pallets per hour.
