This video shows a demonstration of a Motoman robotic palletising system further enhanced by the use of a vacuum Unigripper.
The Unigripper allows the robot to pick up products and parts of many different shapes, sizes and surface textures without the need for tool changing.
For the purposes of this demonstration, the Robot (MOTOMAN HP20 model - available from Robotic Automation P/L) has been slowed down to only 25% of its top speed, to ensure the safety of visitors at the exhibition who might peek a little too close!
The design of the Unigripper uses a system of valve points that allows vacuum to be applied only to the area of contact with the product/part, so there is no loss of suction due to uncovered areas of the gripper surface.
APPLICATIONS include: Handling, case erecting, packing, sealing and palletising (any or all of these with the same robot!)
BENEFITS include:
- Reduced labour costs
- Reduced staff injuries from repetitive strain
- Reduced compensation claims
- Reduced lost production time
- Reduced contamination and damage to product
- Reduced staff turnover and management costs
- Increased productivity
- Increased product quality and space efficiency
- Increased product consistency
- Increased competitive advantage
- Increased safety
- Increased hygiene
