Machinery Automation Robotics (MAR) has announced the acquisition of the business operations of Industrial Photonics Pty Ltd.

Industrial Photonics provides custom engineered inspection solutions for process lines. Applications include machine vision systems, industrial near infrared (NIR) systems and chemical sensors to detect odour profiles for food processing and other industrial applications.

Troy Krogh, MAR General Manager, says Industrial Photonics has a reputation for providing high quality inspection technology and solutions. The addition of the new technologies and engineering resources is complementary to MAR’s existing strengths in Vision and Advanced Sensing Technology. MAR has always been known for our innovative solutions in the food and manufacturing industries and this acquisition provides a platform for expanding our range of solutions for customers throughout Australia and New Zealand”

MAR has been in business since 1987. As an industry leader in Automation and Robotics, MAR has received several major industry awards, including the 2008/09 Telstra Australian Business of the Year.

All existing Industrial Photonics staff have been retained, and MAR will continue to operate and support Industrial Photonics brands.
