Technical Sales Support Consultant for Fronius, Adrian Shore talks to us about networking and quality management using Fronius Power Sources.

In any industry the effective management of time is a significant issue. But in the robotics industry, time management is crucial. Productivity equals costs, so it’s no wonder manufacturers are always on the look out for the right technology. Technology specifically crafted to optimise their processes. Make their applications run faster, more accurately while still being low-maintenance.

Meet Xplorer from Fronius; a sophisticated yet easy to operate, ergonomically designed software for centralised operation, monitoring, diagnosis and documentation of networked welding systems used in automated production operations.

As Adrian explains, “The Fronius Xplorer combines all the existing Fronius PC software components in one software program.“

Some of the extensive functions include visual status notificaitons of all the power sources in the network, an overview display, a remote function panel, detailed job lists with command values, documentation and changing-history, full documentation with actual values, command values and errors, a logbook function for both event and error, a statistic function and a graph function.

Want more?

How about an automatic backup and restore function, the ease to choose your communication settings, monitor the consumed values for gas, wire or heat input, update and edit user profiles, view or edit jobs using the split screen function or operate in eight different languages with three Asiatic specific options.

So what are the advantages you can expect from using Xplorer by Fronius? There’s the consistant graphic user interface, access to a virtual control center for central controling of all systems, touch-screen functionality for easy handling and an overview of the state of all machines in a company network.

How will it improve your productivity?

The transparency of the Xplorer software has been designed to optimise processes. For example, the user can search for each welding system visually using its real location and name in plain text. There are status indicators showing the power source level. The user can change parameters and limit values centrally. A central controller can easily monitor what has been changed on which system, when and by whom.

The command and actual data, comments and documents of your entire operational function can be collected and stored by Xplorer. Making the information readily available for any application, for instance the command and actual data and any associated errors can be called up for a particular welded component complete with its number and seam.

With its wide range of functions, facilitates optimum maintenance and servicing. For example, the Fronius service engineer can analyse past faults, or disregard them. Xplorer can also load new jobs and distribute them to all the welding systems in the network.
